Project Description
When developing the Millhouse Yards subdivision, Selkirk Homes contracted the services of Morven Construction to assist with building a retaining wall and other structural elements.
A 173 meter retaining wall was constructed using 1,000 precast Magnum stone blocks. This allowed for the development of the subdivision and multi-unit residential buildings. The wall is a mix of traditional gravity and geogrid reinforced types.
In addition to the retaining wall, our team created a new concrete walkway/sidewalk and chainlink fence. Sod, topsoil and river rock were used to complete the look.
Despite supply delays with the precast blocks, the project was completed two months ahead of schedule, allowing continued development of the subdivision.
