Project Description

Morven was engaged by the City of Kingston to complete major shoreline repairs to two areas of a popular recreational pathway damaged during high lake water levels in Fall 2019. Three other repair areas were added to Morven’s scope including shoreline protection along a major four lane commuter roadway, protection of critical underground infrastructure at a park and underwater stabilization of seawall. Morven provided all site protection, erosion and turbidity controls, traffic controls and guiderail installation. The shoreline protection designs varied between sites but all required the final rock elevation to be 0.3m above the 100 year lake level. Despite winter storms and a train derailment, over 650 metres of shoreline was reconstructed using 4,500 tonnes of custom rock very quickly.
