Project Description
The students at Lancaster Public School are enjoying a new school yard, thanks to the skilled team at Morven Construction. Over the seven-week summer shutdown an artificial soccer field and play areas were installed. This included safety shock pad, subsurface drainage, high-performance granular bedding and player benches. This type of playing field requires specialized sub-contractors to install it. Therefore, Morven needed to manage the project with precision to ensure the contract was completed on time. In addition, municipal permits were delayed but that did not prevent the team from completing the task in time for students to return to school.
Morven also relocated existing play structures, reconfigured the basketball nets, posts and key and replaced the asphalt parking area with full depth granular. The students now have outdoor seating areas provided by armour stone and 30+ new trees provide some beautiful landscaping to the space.
